Kevin’s Korean BBQ Style Beef (fresh): 3.5/5
Scott and I agreed on this rating!
We liked this. We actually liked it more than we thought we were going to, and it was actually pretty tasty once I really browned the meat and added the sauce and garnishes.
Portion-wise, the entire box (2 packs of meat plus 2 packs of sauce) served both of us dinner and a sizable lunch for me the next day (paired with broccoli I air-fried and white rice).
The reason I don’t rate it a 4 is that, for the price, it really doesn’t save me enough time versus when I make this beef & broccoli dish using the Trader Joe’s shaved beef and my own sauces and seasonings.
It’s really tasty, however, and if you’re not someone who does well with throwing ingredients together to marinate things and would prefer to just sear meat and add sauce, this would be a good one.
Just don’t skimp on the searing time and the garnishes, because that really did help the blah looking meat go from weird to normal looking in a few minutes.
My Food Finds rating scale:
1 - not good, would not recommend or buy again
2 - just okay, would not personally buy again, but could be good for others based on preferences
3 - good, but not really my taste and wouldn’t buy again for myself- would buy for Scott if he likes it.
4 - very good, would buy again, likely have gotten more than once before sharing and recommend.
5 - excellent, was either surprised by how good it was, extremely happy with the flavor for the price & convenience, or buy it regularly already and find it solid/tasty/useful
We liked this as well, but agree it needs to brown longer. We added carrots and broccoli and tossed it with some fresh yakisoba noodles.
We like this one too! I found the Kevin’s sauce packets on Thrive Market recently. We like the curry!
